At Agility, corporate responsibility means giving back to our communities and our planet. We use our logistics expertise to assist in disaster relief efforts around the world. We believe our employees can make a difference to the societies in which they work, and we empower them to take the lead in causes they feel passionately about. We are also taking green steps internally and participating in industry dialogue about environmental action.

"Global presence brings social responsibilities. As we grow as a company, particularly in emerging markets, we can see for ourselves that poverty, disasters, and global climate change affect us all. No one can afford to ignore these problems – and in fact, we as Agility are in a unique position to help,” says Tarek Sultan, Agility’s Chairman and Managing Director. This is a commitment that Agility takes personally. We believe that in the long term, being a good corporate citizen will help us grow our business, our communities, and our future.

Humanitarian Relief

When natural disasters strike, good logisticians are needed to get relief goods to the affected areas – fast. Agility has created the Humanitarian and Emergency Logistics Program (HELP) to bring our expertise in emergency preparedness and response operations to some of the world’s most challenging environments. Under the auspices of the World Economic Forum, and in conjunction with other industry leaders, Agility deploys some of our highest-performing employees to assist the humanitarian community during times of crisis. We also use our global network of warehouses and trucks, and strong contacts with shipping companies and airlines, to provide our humanitarian partner organizations with donated services that help make a real difference in saving human lives.

Sustainability

Agility believes in giving back, not only to local communities – but also to the very world we live in. We recognize the importance of preserving our natural resources, whilst also understanding that the complexity of these issues demands global dialogue and awareness building. Agility is working with the World Economic Forum to identify best practices in reducing carbon in the supply chain, actively engaging employees on how to reduce our own company’s carbon footprint, and working towards helping customers understand the environmental implications of their purchasing decisions.

Community

Agility knows from firsthand experience that employees with passion can make a difference. We have created a corporate grant program that enables employees to take the lead on implementing social projects that are meaningful to their local communities. Since 2006 we have seen over 120 community projects being implemented in over 40 countries worldwide, helping 286,000 people on the ground, and mobilizing about 15% of our workforce as volunteers.
